How NourishNot collects, uses, stores, and protects information in the app and on this website.
Effective date: August 12, 2026
Privacy at a glance
- NourishNot stores app data on your device and may also process or synchronize limited information when you use features such as history protection, restoration, AI Coach, reports, or other server-connected features.
- NourishNot does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
- Our websites collect contact information when you voluntarily join the waitlist or contact support, and use limited analytics information to understand website usage and performance.
- You control whether to use optional contextual features such as location.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the NourishNot mobile application, the nourishnot.app and nourishnot.com websites, the beta waitlist, and contact or support forms.
2. Information collected in the app
2.1 Check-in and wellness information
When you use the app, you may voluntarily record information such as:
- Apple Test or hunger-reflection responses;
- moods, emotions, cravings, and actions taken;
- sleep information and other contextual entries;
- the time and circumstances surrounding a check-in.
2.2 Location information
If you enable Location Sharing in NourishNot and grant the relevant Android permission, NourishNot may use location context associated with a check-in to help you notice environmental patterns. Location Sharing is optional. You can turn it off in NourishNot settings, and Android location permission can also be changed through your device settings. Turning Location Sharing off does not automatically delete location information that may already have been stored.
2.3 App usage information
Depending on the choices you make in app settings, NourishNot may process limited usage information to understand feature use, improve reliability and support optional community or product insights. Available analytics and community-insight choices can be managed separately in app settings. Essential service requests needed to provide features may still occur even when optional analytics are turned off.
3. Information collected on the website
The app can be used without creating a traditional NourishNot account. Our websites collect information when you voluntarily submit it and may also process limited technical and analytics information as described below.
- Waitlist: email address, mailing consent, and optional interest in Pro.
- Contact form: name, email address, subject, message, and any optional attachment.
- Technical security data: the hosting or form infrastructure may temporarily process standard request information needed to prevent abuse and deliver the service.
- Website analytics: Google Analytics may process information about visits to nourishnot.app and nourishnot.com, such as pages viewed, referral information, device and browser information, approximate geographic information derived from an IP address, and cookies or similar identifiers used for analytics.
3.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our websites, including which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the sites, and general usage and performance patterns. Google Analytics is provided by Google and may use cookies or similar technologies as part of this processing.
When Google Analytics is used, your browser may send Google information such as the URL of the page you visit and your IP address. Google may use an IP address to determine a general geographic area. We use the resulting analytics to understand website performance and improve our websites and content.
We do not intentionally send Google Analytics information that directly identifies you, such as your name or email address. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services in Google’s Privacy & Terms information.
4. How information is used
- To provide check-ins, pattern reports, AI Coach, sleep-related features, history protection and restoration, synchronization, exports, and other features you choose to use;
- to send requested beta-access and product updates;
- to answer contact and support requests;
- to understand website and product usage and improve quality, reliability, content, and usability;
- to protect the service from fraud, spam, and misuse.
5. Data storage
NourishNot stores app information locally on your device. When you use server-connected features, limited app information may also be transmitted to and stored by NourishNot’s backend infrastructure so those features can operate. This can include information used for synchronization, reports, optional history protection and restoration, AI Coach, and other enabled features. Waitlist and contact submissions are also processed by NourishNot’s backend infrastructure and retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which they were collected.
Some features require processing beyond your device. For example, AI Coach messages are sent through NourishNot’s backend to an AI service provider so a response can be generated, and protected-history or synchronization features require server-side processing. If you choose to protect your NourishNot history with Google, Google is used to help verify your connection to that history; Google is not presented as the storage location for your NourishNot history.
Some older history restored to a device may be reconstructed from summarized information rather than from every original event-level detail. This can affect the availability of exact historical times or context for some older entries.
6. Data sharing
NourishNot does not sell personal information and does not share it with advertisers for targeted advertising.
Information may be processed by service providers that support hosting, email delivery, form handling, security, analytics, AI functionality, or other features. For website analytics, we use Google Analytics, provided by Google. AI Coach content may be processed by an AI service provider to generate responses. Service providers should receive only the information necessary to perform their services and be subject to appropriate privacy and security obligations.
You may choose to export or share your own reports. NourishNot does not control information after you share it with another person or service.
7. Your choices and rights
- View and manage app data stored on your device;
- delete locally stored app data through available app controls and contact us about privacy requests involving information processed by NourishNot’s backend;
- decline or revoke location permission;
- unsubscribe from marketing emails;
- request access, correction, or deletion of information submitted through the website.
8. Children's privacy
NourishNot is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Security
NourishNot uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No digital system can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their devices and exported files.
10. Changes to this policy
Material changes may be communicated through the app, website, or email when appropriate. The effective date above will be updated when this policy changes.
11. Contact
Privacy questions or requests can be sent to privacy@nourishnot.app or through the contact form.
